Hello and greetings for Week nine of our live admin course, very excited to get started. Tonight we are going to be discussing some final knowledge areas on
The exam guide for the administrator certification and then as well, just wanted to mention as we're getting started here that I came out of the tornadoes last night unscathed.
We are in the Nashville area, but we're south of Nashville little bit in Brentwood, Tennessee. And so even when the tornadoes were hitting in Nashville. Last night we weren't even getting any rain or high wind or anything like that. So all as well in the weeds a household
And extended family and everything is so wanted to let you know that all is going well and then we will be covering a lot of ground tonight. We have a couple of knowledge areas to discuss and then we will also
Be from there, preparing for the actual exam also. So, tonight's agenda is we will be doing our poll for one final time to find out.
How caught up, you are or not. And then we'll be doing the weekly assignment recap, we will also be looking at desktop and mobile administration. That is one of the
Knowledge areas that we need to address tonight. And then as well. I want to introduce you to a mobile simulator. It's a Chrome extension that you can use to test out and
Try out Salesforce mobile on desktop as well as covering things related to the App Exchange, which is another knowledge area.
And basically just showing you some things that are available on the App Exchange that you may not be aware of.
And then we're going to round out things with taking the exam practice tests registering and just some advice and tips for taking
The actual exam also. So with that said, please do vote on the pole and last week at this time 25% were caught up 67% were behind and 8% were caught up and started on next week's assignments. So do vote on the pole there, if you would, and then
I'll leave that up for a moment, in case some of you may be joining late but looks like we've got a pretty good crowd so far and almost everyone has voted it looks like so.
Last week week eight that had to do with workflows and process automation. So the topics that we covered last week, either live or in the assignments had to do with workflow rules and actions process builder.
Flows and as well, how to determine which workflow, or which automation tool to use. And so if you have any questions, just put those in the QA and I will get to those at some point tonight and alright so let me end the poll now looks like we've got 28% caught up 63% behind
And then the rest
A smattering. Alright, so let's talk about desktop and mobile administration Shelley.
Now from the exam guide. There's a couple of bullet points related to desktop and mobile administration and it has to do with describing the capabilities of the Salesforce mobile app as well as describing the installation and synchronization options, a Salesforce Lightning for Outlook.
A few things I want to introduce you to. If you have not already seen these first
Is or a note to make is that you will see even still today some references to Salesforce one and I wanted to make you aware that if you ever see Salesforce one
Out there in the wild somewhere that is now referred to Salesforce mobile. A few years ago, whenever Salesforce first launched their mobile application and mobile platform.
They call it Salesforce one and one place that you will see Salesforce one still showing up is in this
Salesforce simulator. That's why I mentioned is the Salesforce one simulator. It's a Chrome extension and let me share that link with you as well for that Chrome extension in this is something that you would install in your Chrome browser. I'm gonna put the
link to that in the chat if you're watching on replay just look for the chat transcript.
And Chat Transcripts are in the curriculum spreadsheet and let me show you what that mobile simulator looks like I've got it running in side of an instance of my Chrome browser.
And this is the older mobile app, not the new mobile app. So if you want to see what the new mobile app looks like.
I recommend that you install that on your own mobile device will I'll go over the links for that here in a moment. But I want to get you familiar with a few things.
Mobile concepts and there is a small amount of questions on the exam related to mobile and clicking that top left there. This is the old navigation menu.
In the mobile application. And this is all customizable as well. And then these down here are known as global actions in you can do things such as post to chatter. I'm just going to click chatter post
Topics with hashtags, you can add mentioned people by
Clicking or tapping, I should say, and searching for people or groups, for example, and selecting someone on just admitting myself and sharing that to chatter. So you'll see that any chatter posts pop up in my feed here.
And this is what I follow, and in addition to these global actions here there's more under show more such as logging a call is one that's very useful in mobile application and
And several others. But then you can go into actual records such as account since selecting an account record and then the action bar down below is responsive and changes based on the record that you're on. And these are objects specific actions.
And we move this over here.
And then you'll also have notifications appear so the mobile Salesforce one simulator the Chrome extension is useful for
Simulating Salesforce. If you want to explore that. And
Now, Alyssa has a question. Let me answer this. So this is tied to an instance of Salesforce. So what you've got to do is you got to log in. So once you install the
Simulator, then you would log into your instance. And so I'm going to go ahead and log out here and show you what that looks like.
Let's see if I can remember my password to login again. So I want to show you where Salesforce one pops up.
You'll see in the splash screen here. Oh.
The mobile simulators broken is put me in classic. Notice that's a classic problem so
The mobile simulator. It is getting a little long in the tooth and a little buggy. I don't think it's being wild.
widely supported nowadays. And there's also a newer mobile application, but I wanted to make you aware of that.
Now the newer mobile application, there's a mobile app. Quick Start as well and I want to share a couple of links for iOS and Android as far as downloading and installing that to your mobile device.
And I do recommend that you do that if you have iOS or Android device. I'll put these in the chat as well, a couple of links and
Because then you can log into your instance whatever instance your username, your password for what you use on the desktop work on the mobile application as well.
So then when you make customizations or experiment with learning how to do things Mobley it on the platform. You can look on your phone application and see everything in action. So the Salesforce mobile app. Quick Start
We just go to the setup home and let me get let me get this search out of here. The new Salesforce mobile app. Quick Start is
One of the links here towards the top of the setup menu, you'll see clicking on that Reggie to a homepage that details.
Some of the updates in this new mobile application and has a graphical preview of what it would look like.
Now you notice that the actions resided a different location. Now the towards the top. Whereas in this mobile simulator though just showing it was more towards the bottom. So just think of it as
As with any user interface or UI is is commonly referred to those user interfaces are like a window dressing the fundamentals. The things underneath the things that you administer on the platform those concepts.
hold true they just may change the location of where those things are found. So these are here. The actions for this opportunity record.
That is displayed. And then as well. You notice that mobile supports the ability to include paths in the layout as well and
There's also links down below for chatter and accounts and other items. Now, I wanted to introduce you to this mobile quick star because this does have to do with the new mobile app and
There's several different steps you run through if you were tasked with converting or implementing Salesforce mobile now in a workplace environment for a multitude of users and
The first step in this several step process is running a Salesforce optimizer for mobile landing pages report that report will just identify which pages.
Will be affected by
Or maybe not ready to be supported in the mobile application. And then there's a tool for updating your lightning apps for mobile. Once you've run that report and know which pages you need to update you can launch
A tool to update your lighting apps for mobile. And then I think your pages and then as well.
There's this toggle for the mobile app for tablet and then other links is support for branding. So if you want to customize the look and feel of the Salesforce mobile app, you can
Customize that through branding, you can set up in customized notification options as well. And I was wanting to find
We had navigation in here. But regardless, you can but
But another thing to mention is a newer application from Salesforce and one thing about mobile applications is oftentimes, you will see that
Whether it's Facebook or Salesforce or other tech companies, they will oftentimes have multiple mobile applications.
And so, with this new Salesforce mobile app. It's good example to keep in mind that for learning Salesforce.
One app, they may want to try out is trailhead go I did search for trailhead go on iTunes just kind of show that trailhead go from Salesforce is the first resolve and then Mike with our media plus
Is the second results. That's pretty cool. But with trailhead go you can install that and it's trailhead the same type of experiences, you'd have on the desktop is available on mobile as well and that link. When we give you that going in the chatter also
And Diana, I see your question, I'll get to that momentarily, having to do with
Update records and field update. I've got some more details on that here in a moment, but I just added the link
Let me, let me add some text here these links are starting to run together till I go
Alright, so that's the link to try and go and some sneak previews of what that looks like now.
I do believe that trial I go just added some of their live stuff to their mobile apps is a new development for them. So it's a good app for you to check out
One, though, is it is iOS only and not available on Android one caveat, or one side note for my own mobile app.
Is my cooler MEDIA Plus, if you haven't been on that. I encourage you to check that out. There is a link to that in the curriculum spreadsheet with discount code as well. If you need that.
And this is available on Android or iOS. So I do have my app available on Android as well so
trailhead go currently only on iOS. I think they have plans for other platforms but have not heard definitively. So, that's correct. No Android version for trial echo yet. Alright, let's talk about mobile navigation and this
I want to show you where that setup, because it does impact.
And let's see if I can find my
May have closed that
No. Oh yeah, I got rid of because it was crashing. So let's just look at the Salesforce navigation and we'll just go to that through setup and I will talk about a few things related to navigation. So if you search for navigation.
And you'll find Salesforce navigation under mobile apps. And this is a pretty basic setup as far as
Your navigation menu items and you can customize these and reorder these as well. Much like you can with other screens and Salesforce, you probably at this point familiar with this type
Of interface for selecting and reordering things. So for example, if you don't want Einstein insights in your mobile navigation, you can move that
Back over into the available section and out of selected. And as I mentioned, you can move things up or down for the navigation also and click Save. Now,
One other mobile app that I just remembered that I want to mention, and we've talked about before in the assignments is the Salesforce a
Application. Now this app is used for administering Salesforce and is intended for Salesforce administrators and it's available on iOS or Android by following these links as well. And that's just from this
Main home screen for mobile. And then another thing to show you if you get started, or that link for the get started.
Go back mobile apps.
Let me go back to home here. So there's the. There's a lot of just mobile links and so that go mobile now takes you to
The new Salesforce mobile app. Quick Start as well. In addition to the link in the setup. So as with good software design, oftentimes, you can get two things in more than one
Method or methodology. So to take a moment to answer Diana's question. This is going back to last week. We're talking about process automation asking what the differences between update record via process builder.
And field updates through workflow rules in this company actions so you can perform a field update
On a workflow rule action. The caveat there is that you can only update fields on the object itself on a workflow rule or its parent
And with updates through process builder. You can do updates to any related record. And so I recently recorded a lesson on this in my advanced admin three course, but I can show you on that real quickly, I think, a quick. This might be
Yeah, might be too quick. So in a nutshell, Diana, you can
You can update records for any related record and not just the object itself. Okay. And there are some instances where you can do updates via workflow rule to a pair
Record, but through any relationship any attachment to two records across objects in process, you can do that. Okay. All right, so
We looked at the mobile navigation.
And best way to understand that is to install the mobile app on your phone and then refresh as you change the navigation to see what changes happen and then as well. Another thing to keep in mind is that anytime
You're using the mobile app one helpful application that you can use is the chatter app that I already demonstrated
Posting to chatter and then you also receive notifications via the bell icon in the mobile app as well. Now my simulator crashed. So it's kind of hard to show on my phone.
So you can test that out as well. Now another knowledge area that there's a lot more to then you may not realize at first blush is the App Exchange, and it does account for just a very small miniscule percentage
On the exam as far as waiting. But I want to talk about some golden nuggets related to the App Exchange and provide the link to the App Exchange in the chat.
And let me pull that up.
But first of all, in addition to that link. I just send it is also available under the setup menu and it's
There's a way that you can bounce out of the kind of condensed version of the app exchange is set up to go the full size. So my show you that real quick and then we'll dig into some of the nitty gritty, as far as the App Exchange goes and the link is in
The chat. So if we click on App Exchange marketplace inside of Salesforce.
We have this modal pop up window that's condensed version. Now, if we want. We could click on App Exchange website, which is this link down here on the bottom left, I just want to show you that as a way that you can get there as well.
Where you can go to App Exchange calm in a redirect you to App Exchange salesforce.com so the as App Exchange is related on the admin exam. Typically, it'll be a scenario based question testing, if you know what the purpose of the App Exchange is and the primary
The primary purpose of App Exchange as a started was as an app store is to provide apps and solutions for organizations that don't have the time or resources.
Or development ability to create the resources themselves inside of Salesforce like some specific function that's needed
It gives you a starting point or an app or a solution. And oftentimes those apps are free and then sometimes they're paid is an additional subscription.
That companies pay on top of their Salesforce subscriptions. Some of these can get very expensive, if you will. So one example would be financial force.
It's listed here as a paid application. And this is a sponsored solution. So they're paying for this premium placement here.
And the note says that it's starting at $30 USD per user per month. So that would be on top of the whatever amount monthly amount the subscription is for your Salesforce licenses as well. Now,
There's a few other things, though, in addition to apps. But before I move on from that, I just want to reiterate that these free and paid apps.
The typical use case is for saving companies time or money or if you have a minimal available development resources. And so that is the type of scenario that you need to look out for on the exam. And it's just testing to see if you understand
Why you would use the app exchange or resort to using the App Exchange. It's kind of in my opinion a goofy.
Knowledge area for the exam, but it is a way for Salesforce to kind of advertise their app exchange.
But also, it does provide a useful service in the ecosystem, because it does Salesforce does provide out of the box functionality and they're always improving the platform, but they then they leave.
A lot of that last mile type of solutions to third party app developers and they can monetize those solutions and launch businesses themselves off of that.
And a lot of these apps on the App Exchange are natively built and reside on the Salesforce platform.
Entirely in so they would not exist if not for Salesforce and then there's others that kind of integrate in but they are more web based and not so reliant on Salesforce existing or have the ability to integrate with other systems as well. Now there's
A lot here and I want to spend a couple minutes on this.
Is that in addition to apps which if you click on the solutions by typing. They're always changing this around so I'm like, Okay, where's the set now.
Nowadays, used to be the apps were really front and center. But now you can click through solutions by type is like apps to see the apps that are available and
And then you can filter by pricing and which additions are supported etc etc. But then other solutions by type or things that are
Kind of smaller than actual full blown applications such as flows. Now these flow solutions are provided by partner companies and we'll talk more about partner companies and how to
Find those partner companies on the App Exchange as well here in a moment. But a lot of these partner companies provide either apps and or flow solutions.
That you can use some of these are free and some are paid. I think most of these are free actually looks like all of them are. So I was thinking that some of these may be monetized. But these are free solutions. Let me share this link.
It's in here somewhere. Kind of
In the chat.
So I do recommend that you get familiar with and try out installing some of these flows solutions. This gives you a chance at
Trying out flows and starting with something other than a blank canvas. Me first go into Salesforce to create a flow the canvas is entirely blank and flows are pretty complex beast and so
These are considered best practices as far as companies that have done a lot of flows and a lot of complex things and you can see or find some examples of
Screen based flows. For example, this is a good one that I've installed before and try it out. It's a questionnaire form. And it's from seven summons, which is just a partner company has no writings at all. But this gives you an idea of what some of these
screens look like these questionnaires and the thing about flows is that is the only automated process automation tool that supports branching and screen interfaces and based on responses, you could have one screen appear or another.
And looks like. Was there an issue with the link anyway Sabrina's sharing a link there.
And there's a question, what do I need to know to build my own third party app for sell on App Exchange, and is it lucrative so we will get into that as far as partner companies and potentially starting your own in a nutshell though Salesforce genius. I like your name. That's a good night.
And that was in the chat just reminder, if you have a question, put in the Q&A if you can, but I just happened to see that there. So I will answer you Salesforce genius.
And then we'll go more in depth on part of companies momentarily, but that is known as an independent software vendor or is v that is one type of partner in the Salesforce ecosystem. Yeah, there's a consulting partner, so I will
Talk about these partner companies and kind of how they come to be. And yes, it can be lucrative so with a name like Salesforce genius, you probably can do it in your sleep. Alright so flow solutions, though, check those out solutions by type
Well, in addition to flow solutions and apps, there's both solutions lining data components.
Components are pretty cool because these are things you can install on your org and those are like widgets for aligning app and you just drag those in the lightning app builder from the left onto your page. And these can fulfill
Customize functionality and you can drag and drop that there's a lot of examples here as well. And we talked before I think it was in this class, I get my live classes, confused, but I think it was the Tuesday night class.
I mentioned something that's not available and lightning still in that sharing and someone mentioned that you can do that through a lightning component. So here is an actual
Lightning sharing lightning component available from Salesforce labs, so you can check that out as well. Now let's talk about
Let's talk about those consultants those partner companies and I will put this link.
In there as well and App Exchange consultant or partner company, and then I'll pull that up.
That would be this tab here for consultants now consultants brings up a sub tab for consultants kind of redundant, but also developers and a job marketplace. So we'll look at these here.
It's been a majority of our time with these partner companies, it does play a role in your future career potentially
And a few things on this is that you can use the App Exchange to target partner companies. And what I mean by that.
Is you can filter across Salesforce expertise and filter down these partner companies. If you want to find partner companies that specialize in service cloud.
You could do just that same service cloud only apply the filters screen refreshes to show you the partners that specialized the service cloud eventually it'll refresh here.
And then you can also filter down by industry experience. And so I do encourage people to look at their background and their experience some work that they've done in whatever vertical that they have experienced in
And then look for companies that are partner companies for a couple of reasons that have expertise in your specific
Vertical and that is because that helps you to hone in on your search for either approaching those partner companies.
Themselves for jobs or seen. Okay. Who are the partner companies in this example that specialized service cloud.
And the auto and manufacturing industry or the consumer goods and retail. So this is a very
Niche list here and what you could do, then, is look at what sort of job openings these particular companies have but also look on their websites to see what sort of success stories.
Or List of customers, they have. And a lot of times, especially if you get into some of the smaller partner companies that may be more local to you.
You may find through their list of companies that they've done work for that, you know, Salesforce partners that have done work for a local company that will you can infer from that.
That they also use Salesforce and they use this partner company to help them implement it.
And nine times out of 10 these local companies want to wean themselves off of these partner companies.
And grow in house talent or be hiring their own administrator consultant or developer or whatever. Now the final piece of this puzzle. And this goes to Salesforce geniuses question is
How to launch your own partner company, and I've got an article on that. Let me pull that up.
And I'll put this in the chat as well. Now this was originally written by yours truly. On April 18 2018 and then there was an update.
Salesforce partner program scoring methodology for fiscal year 2020
And but the concepts still hold true. Now this is an important article I do encourage you to look through this and follow the links for the scoring methodology which I'm going to go ahead and click on this as well.
And this is all open information publicly available. So I'm not revealing the secret sauce. I'm just helping you determine how to interpret the secret sauce to your advantage. And so there's now the
Fiscal Year 21 consulting partner Trailblazer scores and
Kind of hard to read and kind of blurry but it's the same type of table.
And we're not going to go through all this. But my point years that
In this table as you dig deep in the weeds of this let me copy this. But this is the chat, because this is a newer version of this.
So look for this in the chat as well.
And why this matters is because all the time. I'm asked. Okay, Mike. I've gotten the admin certification. Which one should I get next
And that really is a hard question to answer because everyone's different. They have different gifts and abilities and backgrounds of interests and aspirations and all that good stuff.
But if you are interested in attacking the partner ecosystem and trying to get a job there. These certifications hold different point values.
Now this is a big long table it's confusing. There's all sorts of see SAT score considerations. There's point designations for these different certifications. So you'll see that, for example, CPU specialist is a hot certification right now, but it's only worth three points.
So ton of certifications now and it's pretty complicated. So with that said, Let me find my article
I lost. Okay, so back to the article I provide more detail around what the scoring mean and where this relates to you is, which certifications. You hold
Salesforce is structured this so that consulting partners can stockpile points in their equation and how they've scored by stockpiling consultants and there's and
Certain certifications are worth more than others. So it is important for you to look through this and if you do have an interest of pursuing a partner.
Job and I probably should explain as well just at a very high level there's three types of Salesforce jobs are three types of Salesforce employers.
There's Salesforce customers. There's Salesforce partners. And then there's Salesforce themselves. So ultimately, you can go for jobs with customers, partners or Salesforce themselves. So this is that middle
Middle of the three the partner company, the implementation experts. Now this has to do with consulting partners, there is this concept of independent software vendors and
Typically, getting back into this space here on the App Exchange, typically what happens, and I'll let me try and find a local example for me okay and a
Let's see, the best way of fun this. I know that they are healthcare expertise.
Let's see, in healthcare.
Let me see if I can just find them by search. So there's a local to me company called verses 12 their partner company. They're located in
Nashville or Brentwood, or somewhere in the area. So they're listed here under consultants, okay. But you also knows that they have a couple apps on the App Exchange.
So typically how these partner companies come into existence, Mr dancer Salesforce geniuses question but also
To let you know, whomever you may be watching right now whether live or on replay is you may want to go down the path of launching your own consulting company and or independent software vendor company. Now typically most
Partner companies start out doing consulting and taking projects for other customers and doing implementations
In a specific vertical and then after you've done dozens of those you see some commonly recurring themes
Then you start to develop an app that becomes an asset that you can sell on the App Exchange and generate revenue that way, it also becomes an asset or selling point to potential consulting customers.
Because you can say, we'll go with my company because we have all these apps, we've developed
And whereas if you went with this other competitor.
They would have to start from scratch, building the solution, but we have these apps that we can install on your org and will save you hundreds of hours of consulting time because we've done this 100 times and so is this journey or path from
From a consultant partner to an independent software vendor or combination of both. And this is an example of that. You notice, they've completed.
To I think it's platinum and then there's something above that, as well. So you can see and filter on those
I can find my
If you go back into
Your consultants here.
It's known as the consultant here and it starts with register that silver, gold, platinum and global strategic the higher up you go the larger
The organizations and also the more complex the projects that. So if you want to explore or thinking about in three to five years, starting your own partner company. I recommend that you work for a partner company.
Not to steal all their take trade secrets or to steal their clients but to learn what it's like to run a partner company and see if it's for you.
And then also, that gives you exposure to a lot of different projects across a lot of different things. And so any that's consultants. And then what else we got we've got
Under consultants as well. Couple of other links.
Developer and job marketplace. So under developers, you can be listed or you can post yourself here.
As a developer, and you see that there's a lot of competition here, but it is. Oh.
Poor Phil Walton has one and a half star right and that's unfortunate. So
bummer town, and I'm not sure how these are all sorted or anything like that. But you can get yourself submitted here.
And potentially gain some jobs and some freelance work there, as well as the jobs marketplace. And I actually did get a project through the jobs marketplace. One time I saw something list. And this was several years ago, before I was teaching
And these are typically postings by people that are responsible for Salesforce org and they're looking to hire someone either permanent or freelance and because the marketplace is so competitive and it's so hard to find Salesforce talent.
Oftentimes companies will resort posting here in addition to LinkedIn or the other traditional routes. Some things are more short term in nature. And that's what the gig that I landed was that way.
Also, you find notes around locations and what they're looking for, and sometimes a price range.
And there's not a ton of activity here. Nowadays, you know, so there was something posted. Two days ago and then 12 and 14 days ago.
But in a given month. It looks like maybe a handful about 10 postings, but something worth checking out as well. So let me give you those links so apex developers listing and there's always
A link in there somewhere. Once you get on those pages as far as how to get yourself listed there. And then the jobs marketplace. That's just more for your perusal and
Was thinking there was a way get notifications on this one, but I'm not seeing it. They may have done away with that.
So Jeff has a question. That's a pretty good one here. And this has to do with change management. So asking how can you move dashboards and reports from a company sandbox into your production system.
And you should be able to do that through change that Jeff.
You would have to first have created your sandbox connected it to production, you've got a sandbox. So you've built one. So you've got that it probably has
The connection to production you and make sure you have that. And then you would just create a change set and include the reports and dashboards and then you would deploy that to production, you would
Validate and deploy that's beyond the scope of the admin exam that is in platform app builder exam.
I've got lessons on that in my platform and builder course. It's hard to demonstrate a free developer account because you don't have
Sandbox is unfortunately available in a free developer account if you search for sandbox, for example, you'll come up in empty and
So I would explore that other options are a tool that has now been retired, but still
Some wants available and can be downloaded as force.com ID. There's an aunt migration tool you could use this little more complex and maybe overkill.
So change that really would work. And then the newest development or Salesforce dx, that of course on that on my cooler MEDIA PLUS
And that was taught by my son Anthony, who is Salesforce developers done a lot with Salesforce dx.
And that has to do with and kind of harking back to early on in this course when we talked about data versus metadata. The. This has to do with metadata. You're trying to push components or metadata from one or to another. So I would say go change sets all the way. So with that said,
We are coming up on break time and we still have quite a bit of ground to cover, because in the second half. We are going to be talking about registering for the exam. Some exam taking tips, some practice test resources and
A little bit more beyond that. So let me get my handy dandy countdown timer going here. Once we get past the five second ad letting that run in the background skipping the ad, so you don't have to. Because you can't actually and
And then djibril is asking, I guess, asking a question say searches setup for outbound and inbound changes. So let me do that.
So there's outbound messages but not outbound or inbound changes.
Coming up empty in the pre developer accounts so
All right, let's do two minute break and I'll see on the other side. We'll talk about all things practice tests, etc, etc. And we will see you in 10. All right, I can get this positioned correctly, this is always fun on this is
This is really fun doing live. Let me tell you so.
Alright, so I think I messed up my counter. They're pretty guys, sorry about that, but oh, well, we'll move on. Alright, so a few more links to share with you.
Want to talk about
The exam guide, real quick, and a few links on trailhead that you want to be familiar with. And let me share that
Alright, so the exam guides available on the trial head admin over you view page and click on getting exam guide. I'll put these links in the chat as well.
Alright so let me show you where that's at. So I'm on trailhead and if you go under credentials and just click on certifications, the landing page is Salesforce administrator
And then if you click on the administrator link the link here for get the exam guy, they'll give you the latest and greatest exam guide.
Now, this is no longer available in PDF and there's no sample test questions in the exam guide.
What you're interested in is the exam outline. As far as the knowledge areas and the weighting of each. There's a lot of high level information as well related to the exam, you may be curious about just cost or passing score and
It may have a notice well about having five unscored questions. I'll talk more about preparing for the exam here in a moment. What to do with those if you have 65 questions, instead of 60 for example I wanted to also show you
In addition to the exam guide stuff is that
Go back into the credentials and the certifications then under administrator, you can click schedule now and that takes you to a page where you can register.
For your own criterion account or web assessor account the testing company that does the testing is called criterion and the website is web assessor.com now.
give you links for that as well.
So I'm putting these in the chat also
Few things to know
Is if you don't have an account already clicked to create a new websites or login and
Few tips here.
I'm going to run through these, but I just want to show you that. I also have all this highlighted or written out on the slide deck.
I'm going to demo this or show this to you though. But you can reference this later, the slides. Those are posted to the Facebook group after we're done going live so you always want to use a personal email address.
And that would be this field here. And that's because you don't want to lose access to your web assessor account.
Because you may need it later. And if you change employers and don't have access to that email address that you registered, then you will have a harder time
Keeping your certifications maintained or registering for new certifications, because if the email address is something that you no longer have access to. Then you wouldn't receive for example reminder emails. If you scheduled something in the future. And then as well.
I mentioned earlier that there's three types of Salesforce employers for Salesforce jobs and that would be
A Salesforce customer company a Salesforce partner company or Salesforce themselves. And so the are you a
If you're not any of these then just say that your Salesforce customer and that will probably, probably be the case.
For most of you, or even if you have a job working with Salesforce every day, then you would be Salesforce customer
Would only use Salesforce employee, of course, you're an employee of Salesforce and SF DC stats for Salesforce com
It's kind of a common acronym that you'll see up there. And then if you work for an implementation partner, which, those are the ones that we were just looking at before the break through.
The trailhead App Exchange, the consulting partners, then you'd select partner and a few other things.
That I always get asked about
Company Name want to put here. If the only reason you would put a company here is if you work for a partner company because remember that article that I shared about how to
How to decide which certifications to take and how partner companies are scored
If you do, or for partner company then do indeed put the company name here because that's how Salesforce knows. Oh, this certification belongs under the umbrella of this partner company.
They get so many points for that goes towards the equation of figuring out if there's silver or gold or platinum, etc. But if you're not working for partner.
If your customer, then just put your own name here unless you will just went, but what company you're working for. But typically, it's fine. Just put your own name here and then the verification opt in.
Yes or no. That just means that, do you want to share your credentials publicly through sales forces own verification process which we go back to
Trial head here under credentials. There's verify certifications.
And if you say yes, you want to share those publicly. Then someone can verify your credentials by searching for your name or your email address.
And it would pull up the certifications and one day you pass them just one important note is that if you happen to fail the exam, the first time, no one's able to tell that
It only shows the date of which you pass the exam, whether it took you one try OR THREE TRIES or whatever it might be.
And then as well. You can request your current status. Once you are certified this box over here on the right is you put your web assessor email address, once again, that's the email address.
That I recommend you have a personal address so that you have access to it because Salesforce will then send you reminders about your maintenance exams, I received a reminder today that I've got.
My main is exams are due by April 10 for the winter 20 release. And so I am behind release on my maintenance exams, but that's that's what you would do there. Alright, so those are
A few account creation tips inside of websites are and then I want to talk as well about
Online versus on site testing. I want to show you some and talk about some caveats of that and Jeff has a question about certification verification
And does it show your score does not. It just says what certification. The person holds. It does not say, hey, they made a 65% or 80%
All that matters is if you pass the test. Now of course you want to try and get as many questions right as possible because it signifies that you really know your stuff.
A part of people that have passed the exam, but they still feel like a failure because I just barely passed to me if I saw a pass at the end of submitting my questions and getting that positive result I didn't worry about it too much. I'm just glad I passed so let's
Was logged in. Let me do this real quick. Let me drag that off screen and get logged into web assessor
Because I've got a fake account.
And then a real account.
Because I can't register for the admin.
Exam because I already had the certification.
So here is
My fake account.
So there's some helpful links on this page here there's links for scheduling the exam and then notes about onside proc during that has to do with testing on it on site. Testing Center.
Or online prospering means to complete your exam remotely Proctor and just means someone is watching you take the test is one of the most boring jobs. I could ever imagine having
Is watching someone take a test for 90 minutes and make sure that they're not cheating. That's the idea behind test being proctored
And so those are some helpful.
links that you can check out once you set up your own web assessor account. But I want to highlight and kind of talk through the resting for an actual exam so clicking on register for an exam.
What you want to look for here is the Salesforce certified administrator. Now there's oftentimes a lot of questions about
Okay, I want to take the lightning admin test or I want to take the classic admin test. There is no lightning or classic admin test. There's the admin certification test.
And the wi has to do with the winter 20 release at some point it will change over into the spring 20 release for this certification exam, but you notice that
There's details here. If you hover over the retake policy, it tells you the details of how often you can retake and Salesforce recently changed this
And I thought this was for each release. So, this probably will lead to more confusion than East Bay, so I'm not going to
pay too much attention to that because you can, I think you can take it up to three times per release. And that's why that's confusing is because it's saying you can take
Retake this exam two times. So if you take it once a file, you can retake it twice.
You can register a second time, one day after you fill your first test event if you fell
On your second test event. You can rest or a third time after 14 days so you can take it a second time, day after if you fell twice, then you gotta wait two weeks.
To take it a third time. And then the clock resets once the spring 20 releases out if you happen to fail. You can take the spring 20 release. Now that would introduce some new questions with each release as well. So I do encourage you to get something scheduled
By April 10 if at all possible, because I believe that would be the date at which and I'll show you some ways you can check to find that out here in a moment.
That would be when a new test would be released with some newer questions newer features. So any who so on site proctored versus online if you go on site.
Then one advantage at an onsite location is you don't have to deal with some of the technical difficulties that you will face with trying to test remotely from home.
At a testing facility they have computers that are provided. They have a quiet room and also unless this is changed.
To the best of my knowledge, if you go to an onsite location and test on site proctored then they do give you two pieces of paper and a pencil. Now that's important because
These questions on the exam are very wordy. They're very scenario driven. And if you have a challenge with word problems.
And story problems as far as big long paragraphs and trying to discern what the actual question even is you can make notes you can jot down those
Now you don't have access to the internet, you don't have access to your phone.
They do take your phone and ask you to empty your pockets and leave your purse or whatever in a locker. So you have no resources available to cheat and their computers are locked down or you can open up a browser and looking thing up.
So it's just whatever's in your brain matter, but it is helpful to have paper and pencil. Now they do I believe confiscate paper.
When you're done, so you can't write down the questions and the answers I have heard of people say, Well, I didn't take my papers so your mileage may vary.
But I, I would recommend if it's your first time if you do have a testing location near you.
To do just that. And if you feel more adventuresome and if you are more technical in nature, then you may want to do online proctored now with that.
There's a lot of ins and outs and advantages there as well, because you have more test times available and I'll show you that here in a moment.
You could test in the middle of the night. If you weren't in for those of you that have children, such as myself, and I remember the first time I tested.
I tested from home, not the first time I went to proctored proper inside the first time and then I did online at home. The second time.
And make sure the house was empty. But if you have kids and the house is noisy and you need quiet.
For your test the might want to wait till midnight when everyone's asleep to do it or something like that. Now I'm going to click on Register for onsite proctored and I'll show you. This pulls up
I think I'm not. Oh, it's pulling up my Tennessee locations, because my profile on my websites or account I filled out my profile saying that I'm in the Nashville area.
So you can search by zip code. And there's a lot more testing centers now than there was when I was first starting out the testing center that was
Famous last words let me be 25 miles.
Alright, so there's a couple here. There's one in Murfreesboro, there's one in Nashville. The closest to me back in 2012 when I took my first certification exam.
And I failed it the first time, by the way, was in Bowling Green, Kentucky. So I had to actually drive an hour to get to my testing center so
If you find a testing center that's close to you in this convenient. You can select it by checking in selecting
Clicking select and then this calendar will show you the available dates and times. You notice my particular
Testing location. Most dates are available, but there's a few that are grayed out. There's nothing on Sundays and Saturdays.
Friday the 13th is a no go as well I guess people would be superstitious and not want to test, then
But then, depending on the date you select you see the Times available refreshes as well. So there's a more narrow time window on these dates also. Now typically, when there is a major release coming from Salesforce.
There's a few things that happen and one is the corresponding test window, they shut down certification tests for like a weekend or several days. And you notice
April 10 through April 15 is a dead time for this testing center. And so I believe the last day. You can test.
For the winter 20 release is April 10 okay and then you start back over with the spring 20 release after April 10
I'll show you. It's more clear when you're dealing with online proctored because there's just a lot more options. So I'm going to go back
Let me do this. Let me just go back to register for an exam and select once again administrator exams, hit the plus side for the admin exam not advanced admin exam, you have to
You can't register for advanced admin until you've passed admin. That's a prerequisite. So let me click on Register for online proctored
And I see someone sharing in the chat a voucher code for Salesforce. Oh, Salesforce certification days. That's a good point. You can attend a free virtual course and I give you
A voucher some sort. I don't know that you save. I think it's like $70 off. I'm not sure the exact amount. So any who check out the chat on that as well.
Now for time zone. This is important. So you want to get this right, because otherwise you may miss the date. Okay, I know someone that missed the day
And you want to make sure you don't miss your scheduled bag because you may not be able to reschedule or you may just eat the $200 and have to take it again. So any new
All right, Patricia. Good luck on March 12 well done scheduling that exam and setting a deadline there and you you all that are raising your hands. I'm not able to respond to those that's a function that would
You're basically asking to talk into the microphone and because of bandwidth concerns. I don't do that.
I'm not sure why people are raising their hands, but can someone put in the chat while they're raising their hands. If that's you, there's a button says raise hand but just put it in the Q&A if you've got something
So Dimitri says, good question. Will I have to take a new admin class in order to take the spring 20
Test. No, you will not. It does take several release cycles for the brand new features.
To make it onto the actual exam. Okay, so you should be fine. There may be a few newer ish questions with each release, but it's usually several releases behind
I'll get into test taking strategies. I'll talk about those five upgraded questions of what those are.
But typically, the news features make their way on questions on the maintenance exams for those of us that are already certified
And then over like the next release or two, they will make their way then on to the actual exam. First, as I'm ready question and then as great as so you'll be fine.
Especially for kind of keeping up to date with what else going on and I send out updates. I sent out an email blast for YouTube video for some new things in the spring 20 release that I think are important.
By the way, so times on I selected my time zone. I'm in the Central Time zone. So I'm selecting America Chicago. So remember, we don't need to worry about a testing center if we're testing at home.
And here is today's date and I could schedule one for right now. And if I wanted to. And you notice that all of these dates are available. And there's a ton of times that are available for the most part.
Was thinking that you could go even in the middle of the night. I've seen it to where you could do like 3am they may have lock that down more maybe more.
Moore's available and you see that there's some times that aren't available there are limits to the number of test takers. I can do stuff online and
So, but I wanted to show you that date window. Okay, so the last date that I can take the winter 20 maintenance exams April 10 that's my deadline.
There is still some dates available for being able to take the test. But then there's this downtime. On April 13 14th and 15th.
That signifies that they are updating their tests and there's no one that's doing tests are able to do tests during those particular three days. And so starting on April 16 which is my birthday, by the way.
That would be when this spring 20 a test would start appearing. So be mindful of that, if you're wanting to do
by a certain date start looking at this, to see if the date, you're wanting is available either online or on site as well.
Now you notice the further out you get there are times available in the middle of the night. So this tells me that a lot of a more recent dates are closer to today. You don't see that. That tells me that a lot of people are testing during those overnight.
timeframes. And part of that may be people in India or Australia or other parts of the globe that are in different time zones.
And this is a 24 hour operation. But you see a lot of flexibility here with testing online. There are a lot of
Physical and technical challenges with doing that you have to provide your own computer and internet connection, of course.
And that as well. You need a an external webcam. Right. You cannot just use the embedded web camera like what I'm talking into now on my laptop.
It has to be set at a 90 degree angle, so they can see from the side. They want to see your keyboard. Your screen your hands to the top of your head as well. They want to see that you don't have any study materials or your phone with you. You can't disappear off camera.
And if you do any of those things or appear to be reading something or talking to someone, or looking off computer much or just acting strange, then they will pause your test and ask you to call and they will scold you for that. Or if you're having any technical issues.
Alright so Nick was saying, do you give us a discount voucher for the exam, I do not. I don't have any discount
vouchers, or I would, those are administered by Salesforce and team troll hits. Specifically, I do encourage you to check out the certification days which Sabrina shared in the chat.
And then Patricia's set a goal when I started the class and set the data while ago, so that's awesome. Good job on that and then
And so yeah, Taylor, you can take the exam on the weekends, especially online, as we can see here, there may be some testing centers that support weekend dates as well as I just really berries.
Upon where you're at in the world of what testing center you select if you have multiple testing centers, I recommend that you look to see which one has the date and time that you like, because the one I was looking at
Had some limitations. It wasn't available on Friday the 13th, for example, that that was my date and I wanted to just
Work against superstition and test on that time I could look and see what other testing centers have dates and times available on map and then Alyssa has a question about the official Salesforce practice test. I want to show you that as well.
And let me repost Sabrina's message. Oh, I'm sorry, that was to all panelists, but not all attendees so me my big mouth. Okay, so here's Sabrina's
Host in all its glory to all attendees. So now you guys can see it as well. I'm so thoughtful. So, sorry about that. Thanks for speaking
Joshua. So let me clear that one out of the way and let's talk about their practice tests. So if you go to register for an exam. So in addition to the actual admin exam. You can see all the different exams, they have. And then there's the certified practice tests which right now.
They have to they've got a practice test for the Marketing Cloud email specialist and the admin certification practice tests which is $20 now for the practice testing is unprompted that means that you can reference resources. It doesn't make sense to do that though because
You want to test or evaluate how well you're doing and assess where you need help and so that test is very similar to the actual exam, from what I've heard.
And they do provide you with the section level scores but they don't give you feedback. They don't tell you what you got. Right. Why you got wrong.
But it will give you an idea of in the actual interface taking a test at least online of what it's like to watch that countdown going
I do think it's a good idea to do this because it will it will humble you. It's a hard test.
And it's harder than my my own practice tests have by quite a bit actually. And so I don't want you to just rely on my practice tests are taking some quizzes it online, or something like that and think, oh, I'm, I'm ready to go.
But take this as well because also it gives you that experience of the interface because also if you go to a testing center the test taking experience is very similar to what you'll see in this practice test.
As far as marketing questions for later review and submitting and it's just kind of getting over some of those butterflies.
So the and Diana's asking, Where can we take the mock test. So this practice test.
You can take it online. It's not at a testing center but is $20 I don't have any coupons or voucher codes for that either. And you purchase that through Salesforce through criteria or web assessor and you can
You can just take that and see how you do the test itself. Okay, so we're getting some questions.
That I want to go over as well. But that's probably more
Like, can I not slide this. Oh, cuz I'm taking a total screen. So I'm trying to get my slide deck backup because I want to
Talk about some of these test taking strategies and this kind of answers to those questions the practice test, though, and the actual test is typically
Well, my slide deck. I'm troll mixes to check out. I want to talk about
test taking strategies and we'll leave the trail mixes for lighter but the
Jeff is asking, how long is the test. Test is typically 90 minutes long and I do encourage you to use the full a lot of time.
Now you may start the test and see that you have 105 minutes instead of 90
That is an additional 15 minutes and that is a hint that you have five on graded questions on your exam. You should also see that so 60 questions you'll see 65
So that's kind of randomly selected. And basically, if you do get the five on graded questions and you see that he has 65 questions, instead of 60
You have 105 minutes instead of 90 that basically means you're a guinea pig and Salesforce is testing out new test questions for subsequent
Releases we were referring previous to, you know, what happens if you don't take the winter 20
Exam. Do you have to take a whole new course. No, but you will be one release closer to those newer features being on the actual exam.
Another thing is if you do take the test and you happen to fail. One time I would encourage you to retake before
The next release cycle. So they have better odds of having several questions, repeated the second time around.
Now the reason I say support to use the full a lot of time whether that's 90 minutes or 105 and just to warn you when you're actually there and taking the test, you're going to have some nerves and some stress, it's okay. Some of you may have not tested in forever.
And so it's kind of a good reminder to just use the full a lot of time, there's a couple of reasons for that is
You want to go through and take several passes at all these questions and answers. And I do recommend that as you're taking the test the actual exam.
Just go with your first gut instinct for what the correct answer or answers are, and they will tell you specifically how many answers to select they won't leave that open to interpretation.
Another clue is if you see radio buttons. Those are by design. You can only select one
If it's a multi select you will have checkboxes, and it'll say select the two or the three or the four correct answers, it'll say it in the actual question.
Now go with your first instinct. Take your best guess and then move on quickly. But if you're not sure on something market for later review. And so then you take that all the way through to the end.
Resist the urge to submit. At this point, submit the test, you may get through it in 45 minutes or 30 minutes and think, I just want to know if I passed or not and get anxious and just click Submit.
And this is a huge mistake because you want to take a second pass to re review your answers. You want to first address those that you marked for later review.
And sometimes you'll find that you just made a mistake. You are a human. I'm a human. We make mistakes sometimes. And in that re review of my questions and answers. I've seen I think twice.
Where upon further review. I just clicked or miss clicked and I knew that the answer was a but it's selected be
So I caught those and that could have cost me and could have been the difference between passing and failing.
And then, as well as you go over every question as time allows, you can start to look for that third pass
So first pass gut instinct Mark things for later review second pass
Just look at the ones for later review and settle in on what your answers are there and then I encourage you to go through question by question. And as time allows. If you have time
For one through 60 or one through 65 and look at those questions and answers and you will begin to see some like kind questions or some recurring themes
You can note these if you're testing on site with your paper and your pencil if they give that to you can make notes about
Things that you're trying to remember. Yes. Okay, number two and number 59 for the same concept as two different ways. So then you can toggle back and forth between those two questions.
Read them see what the possible answers are. And that just gives you more meat to work with to discern or remember what
Potentially the right answers are there are times where I've done just that. And that's helped me where I realized after looking at it like kind question.
That I got the first one wrong after further review of a secondary will like kind question.
The final reason or purpose behind taking the full a lot of time is to memorize as much as you humanly can
And this is not cheating. And this is just for preventative measures if you do happen to fail. Now I do encourage you to go into the exam with a coin toss mentality. You may pass you may fail, but you will
The sun will come out tomorrow. Basically, you don't want to be too low, going into an exam and just thinking, oh, there's just no way that I'm going to
Pass this and I'm a failure. And I'm too old and I'm too slow. And I'm not technical enough
That's going to hinder you if you're wasting time and energy thinking negatively. Also, you might be blinded by overconfidence. If you say, well, hey, I took Mike's live class and I scored this on this practice test.
So I should be good to go. Because you want to take the full a lot of time so coin toss mentality just set expectations.
Is going to be fine either way. Of course, you hope you're going to pass, but in case in case, in case you do fail.
You will be glad that you took the full a lot of time and you listen to my advice of memorizing as much as you possibly can.
That way, once you do submit if it says pass, then you just celebrate and
True, you may have wasted five or 10 or 20 minutes while you were memorizing, only to find that the past but that's okay. If, on the other hand you happen to see the word fail.
Then immediately you need to do what I call a brain dump and that's where you just write down or record into your phone and a voice memo.
As soon as you can, what you get out of the test taking center as Siri just turned on my phone. I don't know why I said that it wasn't that though.
Anyway, but you want to get out of the testing center or offline. Don't feel sorry for yourself but immediately start talking into a voice memo, I think it's more frictionless that way.
Just stream of consciousness. Nothing in front of you know distractions. Don't even texting what's at all. I felt. I'm a loser just resist that urge
Get as much on audio as you possibly can and then go through the exam guide and do it a second time those bullet points on the exam guide will trigger your memory.
And it's not even trying to remember what the exact question was, it may just be something really big like okay I remember a question about
Campaign influence. I'm not really sure what that is but one of the answers was contact roles. I think on opportunities that is like a nugget of information that
If you get that question again the next attempt, which you have about a third of a chance about, I think, about a third of the questions are re asked
Or you'll see about a third of them again if you retake in the same cycle. Okay, so that's why it's important to to retake soon.
That's why it's important to take the full lot of time and that's what a brain dumps about okay so
Very important. Don't just gloss over that and you will want to click Submit. If you're done, and you've got a lot of time on the clock. But the reason that I recommend a brain dump is because remember I mentioned driving to where was it
I'm trying to
Do this and just talk to you guys, when I drove to Bowling Green, Kentucky, and I failed my first exam.
I had a 60 minute drive back home felt sorry for myself. And then for the next 59 minutes that I had for my drive and like, well,
I think my wife actually recommended that I try and remember what was on the test and it was probably her idea. Most good ideas come from our experience. That's true.
Bart's I spent that time talking into my phone back when it was legal to hold your phone in Tennessee, which it's not anymore.
But I was within the bounds of the law at the time and I was just riffing whatever I could remember
As I was driving home and I did several voice memos and then when I got parked at home, even before I went inside.
I looked at the exam guy because I had to print out of it in my car and I was referencing that because when I was sitting outside the testing center.
Because it was a long drive ahead, some time to kill. And so I was trying to cram as much as possible. I was looking at the exam guy. So I had it in the car with me. So I just is.
The point is this brain dump was a happy accident. It was fortunate that I did this because I was able to through because I did remember so much from the exam from taking the full a lot of time.
And then talking through what I can remember. Plus, looking at the exam guide and that triggering
More than I was able to remember, at least the concepts and the themes behind. About half of the questions and then I pass the second time around. About a week later. Now I see we have a ton of questions. Sorry.
I will be okay so Alyssa is asking for would be monitoring Facebook group for questions after tonight. Yes, I will.
And I'm monitoring old groups and I've kept all my facebook groups. And I think I'm going to be taking a break from some of the live classes for a few months, and so
The point is I'm not getting overloaded with too many groups to keep track of. So I will keep the Facebook group up I'll keep the replays of
All that will be indefinitely. I can't promise that. It'll be up forever. I mean, Facebook to go under someday I doubt it, but you know, you never know. And, but for the time being out keep everything available so you can catch replays you can ask questions and then
Let's see, what else, what else I guess that's the point I'll keep this available to Patricia said, I've taken the Unity practice tests and the websites are testing. Yes, the websites to test is harder. Yes, it is.
And then, can't remember if I'm giving you the link for my practice tests. Now, one thing is the only thing that I'm not able to replicate on my cooler MEDIA PLUS quite yet.
Other practice tests. And so I am going to direct you to you, to me, I did share a link last week. Here's the link this week. It's my coupons all expired usually makes it really hard to do coupons. But with that referral code.
I think you can get it right now for like 12 or 13 bucks. It's three practice tests timed I do provide
Answer feedback and section level scoring
Excuse me. Alright, so
Looks like Monique had a question about from besides the Salesforce official practice tests are there any other tests that are equivalent and difficulty as an actual Salesforce exam. I'd say that's the closest one
I would encourage you as well to avoid quiz Lutz, there's a lot of sketchy ones out there and answers that are
That conflict. So the main point is you do just overall and people don't do this, they just take practice tests and quizzes and
Treat it like it's trivia night at old Chicago rather than learning the concepts and I always encourage learn the concepts that way it doesn't matter how things are worded if you understand the underlying concepts, then you're going to do fine. So I'll just leave it at that.
Should you take the price test more than once. Now, and then closer to our exam date or are they the same as for Maggie so
My practice test. I have three of them. So I would recommend that you take one and then look at how you score address your weak areas, take another one, then a few days later.
Don't burn through them all at once and then address your weaknesses, based on that feedback and then take the third and final one. And then, and then I would take
I'm just debating about which are were to do the web assessor while somewhere in the middle. I would do the websites for one so that you can be appropriately humbled.
Or maybe the last one I don't want you going in and going, oh I barely passed Mike's practice test, I'm ready for the actual exam, you're not, you need to be scoring like 80 to 85%
Granted, I do need to update my practice test was a lot harder questions to get closer to the actual exam, but it is what it is I'm being honest, it's a
It's a an entirely different art form writing test questions versus doing video and I'm pretty good at test questions and I'm working on getting better. Alright.
So Patricia asks you will not know what questions you missed. Correct. So you won't know which ones are wrong. If you decide to retake
The test now on that on my practice tests, you will know which ones you missed now on that link to go to my practice tests that I provided in the chat. There's a trailer for that.
Course. Now I recorded that a long time ago, back when I had like 16,000 students. I was just looking at it today because I explained how to practice tests work.
And how to navigate reviewing your answers senior score senior knowledge area scores and percentages.
And question. My question highlights the ones that are right or wrong. And I also provide why this is right or why this is wrong and I linked online help as well.
It's a lot of good stuff in there. Actually, if you explored all so you will know what you got right or wrong.
On the actual websites or practice tests, you will not know what you got right or wrong, they will give you the knowledge areas scores. Now, little pro tip is because it is not proctored and it's open book. I'm not encouraging you to
Use outside resources because that would deflect from where you're actually add as far as assessing what you know what you don't know.
But while you're taking the exam. You can copy and paste the questions into a Word file. Now don't be a schmo and share those online. I've seen some
Unethical people selling those in in courses or using it to build an email list.
Some very uncool things. They're just leave that for your own reference so you can refer to it later. You can see, then, if you do record what the question was, of what you answered, you could then investigate later.
To see. Okay, did I get this right, or did I get this wrong. Now those practice test questions are not on the actual exam, but they're have a similar vein, and they will explore the same concepts, if you will.
Zeke freeze out of their study groups, I can recommend virtually or physically in DC, Maryland, Virginia. There's, there are meetups there's the success community at success Salesforce com as far as study groups.
I'm not sure specifically on how to find those you can
Post in my larger Facebook student groups I have like 8300 students in that group. Nothing was specific to this class, but those that have taken my courses and elected to be in my student group.
And you can ask around in there and as well. Each week, I welcome new members to the group and ask them, you know, welcome to the group, please share what your immediate goals are and where you're joining us from
So usually people will spout out where they're from. And right there in that stream. They in there was someone today that was from Nashville. And I was asking them, Hey, how'd you do with the tornadoes and all that and
So let me type
Or Diana's asked her words Mike's test that's in the chat. So just look in the chat. But I'll type the answer here hopefully this works, and then
blares mentioning there is risk that Quisling exams incorrect or outdated and
I sometimes wonder. Some of the practice tests and quizzes. It's online or maliciously done incorrectly or not miss maliciously
But I've even thought about creating some fake exam dumps because I see people asking for exam dumps just wanting the questions and the answers.
And I even floated that idea online on Twitter and basically to drive people to the source, which would be Salesforce and testing things out and I would be a secondary source, of course, as far as resources available, but there are a lot of incorrect or conflicting information out there.
And Patricia did do the copy and paste
And she did find the exact questions on quislings with the answers. You'll also find my stuff on quislings I've had to take take down request.
Because people will just copy my stuff off of my you know me practice tests and then put them elsewhere, try and sell. I've seen other you to me instructors.
Copy my stuff and then put it in their own course because it's YouTube could be a human instructor. All I gotta do is copy and paste, you know,
So anyhow, that's a battle for another day. But there are some limitations on you dummies duplicate matching. There it is. So any
Patricia I took the web assessor tests and found the quizzes exam was the exact questions with the answers.
Are you saying these answers are incorrect. So if you found right if someone is copy and pasting the practice tests from websites or the official practice tests and put it on a quiz look
It may be the right answers. And maybe the wrong ones and maybe what they think is right, because I don't think they would know what the right answers are
I think they would take their best guests or someone may be trying to throw people off to discourage people from using quislings it's impossible to control anything can and will be pirated My videos are pirated all over the place.
And everyone's training videos. Anyone of note or even not have no real just a granular oddball stuff is pirated. You just never know. So any who
Quiz. Let's I would be wary of because there is no quality control. There's no accountability.
And at least with the stuff, like I do, or others do more in the marketplace, if you will. There are review mechanisms. So you can read what others are saying about that.
And whenever you're at scale, and you've got how the HOW MANY REVIEWS, I got as in the 10s of thousands. You can't gain that are fake that if I had two or three. It'd be like, Hey, Mom, can you review my course you know maybe when I start now.
Maybe my kids reviewed my course I'll never tell. Now, they actually did. So anyhow, let's make sure we've covered everything I'm kind of digressing here I so let's get back to the point here because I'm going along.
All right, let me share
Alright so assignments for this week is the final week so final week of assignments and that would be to complete the desktop.
And mobile administration and App Exchange sections and course for that has a runtime of 15 minutes

completion time of 20 minutes also had the link to my practice tests in the slide deck also put that in the chat as well. So if you have any questions, as was mentioned, I'll keep the Facebook group up and then you can also reach me at support at cloud Career Coach calm and

I was able to pivot into this career successfully and then fortunately for me. I had a background and training and technical writing and so it all just kind of fell into place.
